It's taking me longer to make the Estuary Skirt than it took to make Kate Middleton's wedding dress.

Refilling my cup

I have been in NM since Aug 8, soaking in all the sunlight, green and red Chile and desert air into my soul. These new memories I make will be the source material for my dreams until I return again.  I finished a Barley hat in the Jemez mountains and started another for my sister while immersed in the sacred spaces at Ojo Caliente.  The crisp mountain air of inspiration fills my lungs and I am back in the womb of my childhood. I am blessed, privileged and grateful.  I also made a Penny Pinafore for my mom, using Italian linen from Stone Mountain and Daughter fabric store, and it was a treat to sew on the vintage Pfaff that we both found at an estate sale when I  lived in Denver.  It still sews like a dream! Ojo Caliente mineral hot springs.  My son and I soaked while the stars loomed overhead.  It was magical. Sewing the Penny Pinafore… I found some beautiful worsted wool that was dyed locally with natural materials, at a great yarn store called Moonca...
