Welcome!

This blog was born out of a pandemic zoom class called “Design Your Own Wardrobe,” by our favorite local maker’s space HomeEc.  We discovered a sacred space for makers’ highs and lows, and the friendship sustains us from make to make.  We will use this blog to share ideas about great books, new websites, apps or anything related to making or whatever catches our fancy!

Today we discussed good books for beginner knitters like me!

Michelle had some great suggestions as follows:

Modern Daily Knitting

Knitting without Tears

Learn to Knit Afghan by Barbara

We also talked about the art and craft of telling a story via graphic novel using Allison Bechdel’s

The Secret to Superhuman Strength as a jumping off point.

  1. Exciting!!! Sorry to miss today but my daughter is taking her first solo flight. So we were busy prepping her and driving her up. She’s on the plane!

  2. Thank you Lisa! The image is hilarious - Looking at it took me to both a light and a dark side.
Light side - wow. she's thinking out of the box! Dark side - this is the future - compromised vision and manual dexterity requiring extra large knitting needles.
I feel so fortunate to be a part of this making-world with you all.
